Plaza Universitaria sits on Avenida España, between Calle Rubén Darío and Calle Arce, in historic downtown San Salvador — right beside the Metropolitan Cathedral, on the grounds of the University of El Salvador’s first campus.

The simplest landmark: if you can see the Cathedral, you have arrived. It is a two-minute walk.

• The night might run long: the lot behind BINAES stays open until 2:30 AM. Four minutes on foot, and the only one that will not rush you.

The classic mistake is leaving the car at Catedral 1 or 2 for dinner and finding the gate locked. If you arrive after 4:00 PM, use España or BINAES.

Request the ride to “Plaza Universitaria, Avenida España, Centro Histórico”. The natural drop-off is on Avenida España, in front of the main entrance.

• 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM — The most comfortable stretch of the day: tables are free, the heat has broken, and there is still daylight for walking downtown.
• 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM — The gallery lit up. The best moment aesthetically, and the one that pairs with a show at the National Theater (five minutes away).

On weekends everything shifts earlier: Saturday and Sunday midday is already full.
